Massage, Swedish or Deep Tissue

30 minutes: $45.00
60 minutes: $80.00
90 minutes: $120.00

All massages include hot towels (except 30 minute massage), aromatherapy and one area included free with hot stones or cupping.

30 minute massage is for one area of focus such as back or neck areas.

The main difference between Swedish and Deep Tissue massages are the techniques used.  No massage should cause pain.  This is a big misconception among clients and even some therapists.  Sometimes a technique might be uncomfortable but too much pressure causes the muscles to brace against the pressure. This defeats the purpose of the massage and can cause bruising.

Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It's sometimes called a classic massage. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension. Swedish massage can be gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief. Although, a Swedish massage can have deeper pressure if desired. Benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity and greater flexibility.

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that's mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. Plenty of water should be ingested before and after the massage.  This aids with the flushing and removal of waste materials that have been released from the muscles during the session.

Chair Massage

15 minutes: $25.00

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.  This type of massage focuses on the back, shoulders, neck, arms, and head. It is designed to relax the muscles and improve flexibility and movement.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.  This modality is used during a deep tissue massage to find trigger points in tight muscles.
